The standard range of metric rotary shaft seals starts from 3.5mm bore, up to 650mm bore. There are a variety of sealing arrangements available, as well as different materials. The standard material is Nitrile, and is commonplace. Nitrile can withstand pressures of up to 10 p.s.i./0.7 Bar (max) and shaft and speeds up to 20 m/s. Other materials available are Viton, Silicone, and leather. Special materials such as brass and stainless steel can be obtained, as well as, given large enough quantities, various rubber colours.
Lip arrangements: Styles available: R21 - Rubber covered case single lip. R23 - Rubber covered case single lip With wiper. R4 - Metal case single lip. R6 - Metal case single lip with wiper. R1 - Totally metal enclosed (leather or rubber lip) Single. R22 - Double lip double sprung Rubber covered. R5 - Double lip double spring Metal case . R25 - Rubber covered case Springless.
Imperial Rotary Shaft Seals
This range starts from 1/8" to 19" bore. All specifications are as per the metric seals. Where possible we would recommend the use of metric seals in new designs and applications.
Piston, Scraper, Hydraulic, Pneumatic and Polyurethane Seals
These seals are also available in many different materials and types. From single acting piston types to rod seals, metric and imperial, to double acting seals. These can be supplied with anti extrusion rings if required. This is a specialised area; please contact our sales office for more advice.
Bonded Washers
Available for metric and imperial applications, again, these come in a variety of different materials, such as Nitrile, EPDM Viton, silicone and also stainless steel body types.
